Early Literacy Coaching
The Early Literacy Coaching within the Montcalm Area Intermediate School District (MAISD) is a grant program through the State of Michigan. In partnership with the Early Literacy Task Force, the MAISD strives to enhance literacy by building capacity in coaches to strengthen instruction around research-tested practices through effective coaching interactions. We strive to support effective systems so that we can effectively respond to data and improve student achievement.
It is also a core part of supporting the implementation of College- and Career-Ready standards in Michigan, particularly in the earliest grades. At MAISD, we are committed to maintaining a consistent focus on the Essentials Instructional Practice in Literacy and to building capacity across our seven districts by strengthening the enabling conditions for student success through the Literacy Essentials. Using the Literacy Essentials with every child, in every classroom, every day, helps improve literacy for all learners.
