The Jaguar Way

We are Safe, We are Independent & We Communicate

At Seiter Education Center, staff and students work together to create a positive, supportive learning environment through Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), known as The Jaguar Way.

PBIS is an evidence-based framework that helps schools establish positive learning environments by promoting social, emotional, behavioral, and academic success for all students. The Jaguar Way provides a consistent approach to teaching, encouraging, and supporting positive behaviors throughout the school day.

  • We are Safe
  • We are Independent
  • We Communicate

These expectations provide a foundation for positive behavior across school environments and activities.

The Jaguar Way: School-Wide Behavior Support

Seiter Education Center provides ongoing instruction and support to help students understand and demonstrate school-wide expectations and The Jaguar Way. Staff use consistent language, active supervision, modeling, visual supports, lessons, social stories, and other strategies to help students practice expected behaviors throughout the school day. Positive behaviors are acknowledged and encouraged through reinforcement systems such as Jag Cash, while behavioral concerns are addressed using a consistent, instructional approach focused on appropriate interventions and student growth. Behavioral data is regularly reviewed by the School Leadership Team to identify trends, evaluate supports, and guide decisions that strengthen school-wide practices and student success.

School Improvement

Every year, schools are required by the State of Michigan to go through the continuous improvement process. This process requires the team to gather data, study the data, make a plan for improvement and then implement the plan.

The Seiter Education Center Continuous Improvement Team meets monthly to gather data, study the data, create a plan and then implement the plan .
