Catamaran Training Website
Catamaran is the system used by the state to promote positive outcomes and ensure compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004 and the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education. Catamaran was designed to help locals analyze and interpret data and keep track of all monitoring activities in a single location. Catamaran reflects the priorities of the IDEA 2004 and the State Performance Plan (SPP) and is aligned with the School Improvement Framework.

Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
The U.S. Department of Education's Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) website provides information and resources for parents and families of students with disabilities.

Michigan Department of Education (MDE)
The Michigan Department of Education is our state agency overseeing all public school districts in the State of Michigan. The MDE website includes resources for "all things" education including leadership, administration, services, grants, academics, assessment, resources and links.

Michigan PowerSchool Special Education (MiPSE)
MiPSE is our standard platform used to develop and manage special education documents, including: pre-referral, eligibility, IEP development, service documentation, state reporting, and data collection for Medicaid billing.

We are providing two different weekly open office hours for MiPSE related questions.

  • Tuesday trainings are in person at either Seiter Education Center or the Helen L. Hamler Administration Building. You may also access the trainings virtually via Google Meet.
