• Harness the power of fire and electricity to design and construct the metal products people use every day.

  • Work independently and in teams to troubleshoot and creatively repair industry-based welding challenges.

  • Join, cut, bend, and manipulate metal for industrial or artistic applications.

Welding Technology is for the student who is interested in welding and cutting processes as a possible career path.  This program is designed to give students employable skills in all primary welding processes: Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, and Gas Metal Arc Welding . Major emphasis is placed on training in the Shielded Metal Arc Welding process as the student progresses toward the American Welding Society qualification welds. Prior experience or knowledge about welding is an asset, but not mandatory. Basic theory and practice of various welding processes and procedures will be covered with an emphasis on safety.
