Kyle Hamlin


Welcome Kyle Hamlin as Montcalm Area ISD's Superintendent beginning July 1, 2020. Kyle comes to us from the Lakeview Community Schools .

Kyle brings with him an uwavering dedication to Montcalm County students and community including unique qualifications such as:

- Leadership Competence: The ability to promote the philosophy of the school program; provide team building leadership; make informed, objective judgments; create an effective staff  development plan; promote consensus decision making; proven ability to build relationships with all aspects related to operating a district which include, but are not limited to: maintenance, food service, local law enforcement, transportation, staff members, parents, and community members.
- Administrative Competence: The talent to maintain a safe, respectful, positive and effective learning environment; evaluate staff performance; monitor financial procedures and expenditures; possess an in-depth understanding of education on the elementary and secondary level as I have held the positions of elementary teacher, athletic director, alternative education director, director of special education, assistant principal, principal and superintendent.
- Problem Solving Ability: Moved Lakeview High School from the 2010 "Priority School" list to the 2013 "Reward School" list; successfully passed a $12.25 million dollar bond on February 26, 2013; increased district fund balance to exceed 10% during my tenure; negotiated multiple collective bargaining agreements; established multiple community partnerships to provide nursing, medical and law enforcement support for Lakeview; collaborated with neighboring districts on shared service agreements for transportation and business services.
- Uncompromising view that all students can learn, given a positive learning atmosphere that welcomes exploration and a constant focus on student achievement.
