As schools and communities across the Montcalm area review and update plans for responding to potential emergency situations, Montcalm Area Intermediate School District (MAISD) in cooperation with county’s Emergency Management Office has unveiled this new web resource to help. It is designed to be a one-stop shop that provides school and community leaders with information they need to plan for any emergency, including natural disasters, violent incidents and terrorist acts. The new web resource has been made possible with the help of a US Department of Education Grant that was received in the fall of 2003. The MAISD continues to update the content of the site in its committment to school safety.

- READY.GOV - US Department of Homeland Security
Ready.gov is a common sense framework designed to launch a process of learning about citizen preparedness. One of the primary mandates of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is to educate the public, on a continuing basis, about how to be prepared in case of a national emergency - including a possible terrorist attack.
Take some time to stay informed about how to react to even unlikely scenarios. You should be prepared to adapt this information to your personal circumstances and make every effort to follow instructions received from authorities on the scene.
