MAISD Seeks Accreditation with AdvancED

In 2014, MAISD began the undertaking to become fully accreditated by AdvancED. Formerly known as the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), AdvancED is the largest community of education professionals in the world.  They are a "non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of Pre-K-12 schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential." (AdvancED, 2016).

By the Spring of 2015, MAISD had earned Candidacy Status and approval by our Board of Education to continue the accreditation process.  This Fall, in October of 2016, MAISD will host an external review team from AdvancED. During this 3-day review process, a team of 3-5 educators from around the county and state, will observe MAISD operations and review documentation from MAISD departments that will hopefully lead to full accreditation.

If you are interested in providing feedback to MAISD regarding our upcoming accreditation, please contact either Superintendent Ron Simon or Associate Superintendent, Michelle Goodwin.

AdvancED Step by Step. Step 1: Application and Readiness. Steps 2-6: Internal Review. This includes collect data, conducting the self assessment, and conducting stakeholder surveys. Step 7: Demonstrate compliance. Step 8: Host external review. For MAISD this is set for October 2016. Step 9: Realign ISD goals with recommendations from AdvancED.
